Led by Debbie Phipps, a passionate and dedicated therapist, we strive to support students in their school environment to improve engagement, learning and well-being.
About Our Therapist: Debbie Phipps
Debbie Phipps is the sole practitioner at In-School Occupational Therapy and has worked with children in the field of paediatric occupational therapy for over 20 years. After working in an OT clinic in Adelaide for 9 years, she transitioned to providing services at Westminster School, where she has helped students for the past 11 years. Debbie is also currently pursuing a research master’s degree focused on self-regulation in education, further adding her expertise in assisting students with sensory processing, emotional regulation and executive functioning needs.
Our Approach
We are passionate about providing occupational therapy services within the school setting. We believe that collaboration with educators is vital for successfully supporting student engagement and learning. Our approach ensures that therapy is not only effective but also convenient for both students and teachers.
Debbie is at the school on Mondays and Tuesdays throughout the year but is also available to provide assistance over the phone during the remainder of the week. With this flexible approach and on-site presence at Westminster School, we work closely with teachers to address any concerns and execute effective strategies.
We also offer detailed feedback to caregivers after each session, detailing the activities completed and providing recommendations for home programs. This ensures that parents are fully involved in the progress and stay informed during the development of their child’s skills.
